Ben Whitney’s story
HCF: What made you decide you needed to change your life?
“I decided to get in shape in 2006 (I was 21 years old). I was overweight with no confidence and was not getting any girls. On Valentines Day of 2006, I was all alone and that was the final straw. The next day I got over my fears and joined a gym. One of the best decisions I have ever made.”
HCF: What steps did you take to improve your life?
“I joined a gym with my brother and we started out just doing what we knew (bench press, barbell curls, etc.). It didn’t take me long to start buying books on bodybuilding and finding info online to try and improve my workouts and diet. I quit smoking cigarettes and weed too when I started working out.”
HCF: What motivates you to keep on this path?
“My continued progress is what keeps me motivated. I have met and exceeded all of my original goals so I continue to set even higher ones. Nothing builds confidence and success and nothing brings success like confidence. It can be a never ending cycle of good if you work hard for it.”
HCF: What are you most proud of going thru this journey?
“What I am most proud of so far is how I look now. I am in contest shape for the first time in my life right now. I started out overweight before I got into bodybuilding so being cut makes me very happy.”
HCF: What futures goals do you have?
“My future goals are about s big as you can get if you want me to be totally honest. I want to be a multiple Mr. Olympia winner and be a living bodybuilding legend. I want to be sponsored by a great supplement company and have my pics in their ads. I want to work for Muscular Development magazine as one of their athletes. Someday I also want to be the top prep coach in the sport of bodybuilding and help others achieve the success I have. I recently got representation by a modeling/ talent agency, so I strive to be a well-known actor and model. Lastly, I want to write books on health, bodybuilding, and nutrition. Small goals I know but being mediocre is ok with me lol .”
HCF: If you could share any advice or words of encouragement what would they be?
“The best piece of advice I can offer is to never give up. I can’t even count how many diet plans and training plans I have tried and failed. I always go back to the drawing board and devise new tactics. If I fail 1,000 more times I will get back up and try again. The only reason I am doing so well now is that I just won’t stop, ever.”
HCF: Where can people get in touch with you?
“I encourage you all to friend me and communicate with me, I really do love hearing from you all. I do personalized fitness coaching and I can help you reach your fitness dreams.”
